Answer
I am using an iPhone but cannot connect to the 5G network. What should I do?

Fret not - we're here for you! Follow the troubleshooting steps below to enjoy giga's 5G network on your iPhone.

  1. Is your giga plan a 5G plan? Launch the giga app to check which plan you are on. If you're on the 4G plan, simply request for a change plan via our app and your plan will be upgraded to a 5G plan upon your next renewal cycle.
  2. Is your SIM card 5G-enabled? Our 5G physical SIM are pretty in pink! If you have our pink 5G SIM card or an eSIM, then you're good to go! If you have our white SIM card, you can request for a 5G SIM card or eSIM:
    1. Request a 5G SIM card via our giga app > SIM Services > Request for a 5G physical SIM. There is a $2.04 delivery fee.
    2. Request an eSIM via our giga app > SIM Services > Swap to eSIM (it's free for a limited time only!). Find out more on how to request and install an eSIM here.
  3. Is your giga SIM card turned on and activated? Ensure that you have activated your SIM card via our giga app, and that the SIM card is turned on in your device settings.
  4. Is 5G enabled on your device? Go to your device settings > mobile networks and enable the '5G standalone network'. Pro tip: on some devices, turning on battery saver disables 5G so do check that your battery saver is turned off!
  5. Are you on iOS 18? 5G network is available on all iPhones with iOS Version 18. View Apple's step-by-step instructions on how to upgrade to iOS 18 for more information.
