Answer
How does the number transfer/ port-in process work?
Here's how the port-in / transfer process works:

  1. When you choose to transfer your existing number from another telco and "port-in to giga" during the sign-up, a random temporary giga number will first be assigned to you and a giga SIM card will be delivered to you with this number. If you selected an eSIM during sign-up, you may immediately activate & install the eSIM and get connected with this tempoary number.
  2. Upon receiving the giga SIM card or upon activation of your eSIM, your port-in request will be processed automatically within 1-3 working days. Meanwhile, you can still continue using your existing telco SIM card, or start using our giga SIM card with the temporary number.
  3. Once the port-in is approved, you will receive a confirmation email and your temporary giga number will be automatically replaced with your existing number from your ex-telco
  4. You can then insert your new giga SIM card or install your new giga eSIM and click the "Activate" button on your giga app once your number transfer process is complete. Thereafter you can surf seamlessly on giga's fastest network using your mobile number!
